Show Synopsis
Our livestream special offers classrooms a convenient, online-accessible option for experiencing educational theatre.
This 35-minute show presents a virtual lesson in energy efficiency for grades 3-5. Through an interactive web platform, a live host will introduce entertaining sketches featuring a variety of characters in professionally filmed scenes from our live theatrical productions – and guide classrooms to participate in a discussion on energy and electricity.
Through in-depth discussion questions for grades 3-5, students are prompted to consider how we can use energy wisely after watching each sketch.
Scene 1: Superhero Nikki Neutron visits gadget guru Agent Y at the Power Squad headquarters to learn how energy is wasted. Our heroes don’t realize that a villain lurks nearby!
Scene 2: Nikki Neutron travels across the world to meet Attila the Honey Badger, a very special member of the Power Squad team. But what’s that up in the sky? Is it a bird? Is it a plane? Or is it … Vivica Voltage?
Scene 3: Nikki Neutron and Attila the Honey Badger confront Vivica Voltage in her own home, determined to stop her from activating her energy-wasting device. Will they succeed? Will saving triumph over waste? Will Vivica Voltage ever change her ways?
Students and teachers will also have access to a Q&A with the host and an exclusive e-learning package that includes e-books, graphic novels, games, quizzes and lesson plans for the classroom that reinforce concepts from the show.
