Show Overview

This 35-minute show presents an online-accessible lesson in energy conservation and natural gas safety. Featuring brand-new scripts specially catered toward elementary learning levels, three professionally filmed sketches (introduced by a live host) will lead classrooms on an interactive and educational superhero adventure.

Through puppetry and sing-along for grades K-2 and in-depth discussion questions for grades 3-6, students are prompted to consider how we can use energy wisely and be safe around natural gas after watching each sketch:

Scene 1: Time Agent Tina Mercaptan is assigned by her boss, Olivia P. Honeycutt, to track down Dr. Schmeinstein as he travels through time trying to destroy natural gas. In order to defeat Dr. Schmeinstein, Tina learns all about the basics of where natural gas comes from.

Scene 2: Tina Mercaptan travels back to the 1970’s and meets Rhoda Richards as she prepares for a dinner party. Tina teaches Rhoda how to conserve and be safe around this useful natural resource, natural gas.

Scene 3: In ancient pre-history, Tina meets a talking squirrel as she makes a family communication plan to stay in touch with her animal friends during an imminent meteor strike. Tina also has a final showdown with Dr. Schmeinstein.

Students and teachers will also have access to a Q&A with the host, and an exclusive e-learning package that includes e-books and graphic novels, games, quizzes and lesson plans for the classroom that reinforce concepts from the show.
