This 45-minute show presents a virtual lesson in energy efficiency for grades 6-8. Through an interactive web platform, a live host will introduce entertaining improv sketches featuring a variety of characters in professionally filmed scenes from our live theatrical productions – and guide classrooms to participate in a discussion on resources and energy conservation:
Scene 1: While trying to get some work done, Noah is pestered by co-worker Olga Ulen, who has something to say about all the ways Noah is wasting electricity around the office. Things get more surreal as Olga continues her relentless pursuit of energy awareness.
Scene 2: It’s Saturday and Molly and Emilio are reporting for detention at Hughes High School after getting busted passing notes in science class. Their punishment? Spend their Saturday with Science Club President Ferris Mueller, who teaches them valuable information – partly through an ’80s pop-music montage.
Scene 3: A frustrated father/utility customer brings his son in to find out once and for all which one of them is driving up the electricity bill. Suddenly, Kilowatt Kitty, a magical cat puppet on a cloud, appears, ready to teach important energy-saving skills! But why is it that only the father can see her … ?
Students and teachers will also have access to a Q&A with the host and an exclusive e-learning package that includes games, quizzes and lesson plans for the classroom that reinforce concepts from the show.
