The kits contain measures to help save energy and money at home while encouraging energy conservation throughout your New Orleans community. <\/p>\n<p>Here are the free measures that will be included in your energy-saving kit:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\tOne 1.5 gallon-per-minute (GPM) low-flow fixed showerhead<\/li>\n<li>\tOne self-adhesive foam weatherstrip<\/li>\n<li>\tOne 1 GPM bathroom aerator<\/li>\n<li>\tOne advanced power strip 5-outlet<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Altogether, this program will save <span class=\"text-secondary\"><strong>over 797,000 kilowatt-hours (kWh) of energy this year.<\/span><\/strong><br \/><!--<br \/> That\u2019s the equivalent of:<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n<ul>\n\n\n<li>\tsaving 565 metric tons of carbon dioxide from being released into the atmosphere<\/li>\n\n\n\n\n<li>\ttaking 122 gasoline-powered vehicles off the road<\/li>\n\n\n\n\n<li>\tpreventing 624,922 pounds of coal from being burned<\/li>\n\n\n\n\n<li>\trecycling instead of landfilling 195 tons of waste<\/li>\n\n\n\n\n<li>\tgrowing 9,339 tree seedlings for 10 years<\/li>\n\n\n<\/ul>\n\n--><\/p>\n<p>This program is provided <strong class=\"text-secondary\">free of charge<\/strong>  to your school by Energy Smart and is a comprehensive energy efficiency program developed by the New Orleans City Council and administered by Entergy New Orleans, LLC. In order to administer the program, we must verify all the awesome energy savings above! <\/p>\n<p>Every single student who gets a kit is sent home with a <strong class=\"text-secondary\">Home Energy Survey<\/strong> to help them install the measures with their family and connect their new energy learnings to their real-life. <strong class=\"text-secondary\">We ask each kit-participating teacher to gather the Home Energy Surveys and return them to us.
