Conservation Cove is a program provided at no cost to elementary schools that teaches students important skills and behaviors related to water conservation and anti-pollution habits. This year, we have created two separate, brand-new programs that are age-appropriate for younger students in grades K-2 and older students in grades 3-5. Our programs specifically focus on regional information and issues that are common to the California communities your students call home.
The program is easy to schedule and easy to host!
- NTC’s Conservation Cove program aligns with California Educational Content Standards and the California Water Act of 2025.
- NTC never charges for performances, asks students to buy anything or shares personal educator information.
- NTC completes all necessary paperwork related to permissions for visiting your school/district.
Conservation Cove is a 25-minute, live, theatrical performance that teaches as it entertains, inspiring students to think about how their personal water-usage and everyday habits affect their community, and the world beyond. Two professional actors will visit your school, bringing everything they need to impress your students (and staff) with this unique educational experience. All you need to do is bring your students to the performance space, get them seated and let our performers do the rest.
There are two separate programs with differentiated content for your lower and upper grade levels:

Our show for K-2 students features fun characters that appeal to younger students with plenty of opportunities for audience volunteers, and interaction with the performers. Basic information on water conservation, pollution and drought-related issues that affect California communities are presented in an engaging and kid-friendly way.

Our show for 3-5 students is presented in a structure similar to a program you might see at a science museum. Our performers use a more sophisticated, straightforward approach to present important water and Earth Science topics, but still engage your older students with an exciting performance with plenty of interaction and audience volunteer opportunities.
NTC has been touring the United States with free educational programming for over 45 years. Whether you are a first-timer or a repeat viewer, we’re excited to offer this opportunity to you free of charge, provided by organizations in your region that care about the future of your students and our planet.
