Energy Academy is a live theatrical production that presents three hilarious sketches all about energy efficiency. By watching and participating in these improvisation-based sketches, students will learn what energy and electricity are, what energy resources are, how energy is used unwisely and how we can all use energy efficiently.
In the first scene, we meet Tara Misu, the head chef at Fluffy’s Spaghetti. Along with Manny, a pizza maker, they discover that the oven isn’t working properly. With the help of a student volunteer, they learn all about energy resources and how electricity is generated.
In the second scene, we meet a student who is on the way to the library when their dog stops them, begging them not to go. We assume the dog just misses their human, but no! The student has been leaving appliances on when they leave the house, and that drives the dog barking mad. The dog helps educate their human and we all learn about how energy is used unwisely.
Lastly, we meet a very important space traveler’s … cousin, Ken Kapow. Ken takes a student volunteer on a mission to Mars where they encounter Bile, the space alien. Ken and the student help Bile save the dwindling resources of Mars and learn how we can all use energy efficiently.
Students and teachers will also have access to an e-learning package that includes games, quizzes and lesson plans for the classroom to reinforce concepts from the show.
