Financial Literacy

This 35-minute show presents entertaining and educational lessons in financial literacy for grades 6-8. In an experience described as “a rollercoaster in a spaceship blasting off to a planet made of money,” students will participate in three interactive financial literacy scenes. An out-of-work superhero named Financial Frog, with the help of student volunteers, will teach the difference between needs and wants. Then, the students will use their bodies to represent money itself, standing, sitting, moving around and forming groups to demonstrate the importance of saving and investing. Finally, the entire audience will shout out answers to assist the two performers as they learn for themselves the difference between credit and debit.

Students and teachers will also have access to an exclusive e-learning package that is provided to expand upon the educational content of the program, including the Money Smart 2.0 online curriculum.
