Energy Conservation

Grades K-6

35-minutes
Show Overview
Debuting this year, our Livestream Special offers classrooms a convenient, online-accessible option for experiencing educational theatre.
This 35-minute show presents a virtual lesson in energy efficiency for grades K-6. Through an interactive web platform, a live host will introduce entertaining sketches featuring a variety of characters in professionally filmed scenes from our live theatrical productions – and guide classrooms to participate in a discussion on resources and energy conservation:
Scene 1:
Just before her rocket launch, astronaut Harmonica Mars is quizzed by Space Commander Sally Tide about how energy use is measured.
Scene 2:
With the lights at GameCo fading, game designer Hieronyma Tru enlists technology specialist and friend, Crash Reboot, to refresh her memory about how energy is wasted.
Scene 3:
Villain Dr. Maybe and superhero Nikki Neutron are challenged by the Great Pickle to prove who knows more about how to conserve energy.
Scene 4:
Renewable energy champion Boomerang Jack helps The Great Waster prepare for a class debate all about renewable resources with dismal results.
Students and teachers will also have access to a Q&A with the host, and an exclusive e-learning package that includes games, quizzes and lesson plans for the classroom that reinforce concepts from the show. Additionally, schools who book Space Station Conservation Livestream Special are invited to participate in the My Energy Kit Challenge, which awards cash prizes to schools who save energy by using the program’s free Energy Kits.
