What is the My Energy Kit program?

The My Energy Kit program, provided by Duke Energy and produced by The National Theatre for Children, is designed to engage K-12 students in green living and saving energy. The program offers schools:

  • An educational show and e-learning package about energy conservation
  • FREE Energy Kits for families and staff
  • The opportunity for schools, teachers and families to win cash rewards

The goal of the My Energy Kit program is to save 10 million kilowatt-hours (kWh) of energy during the 2021-22 school year.

The Energy Kits

Families at participating schools are invited to request a FREE energy efficiency kit to save energy at home. When installed, the items in the kit save up to 200 kWh of energy every year. Included in the kit:

  • LED Bulbs (ENERGY STAR® Approved)
  • Energy-Efficient Showerhead
  • Kitchen/Bathroom Faucet Aerators
  • Switch and Outlet Insulators
  • LED Night Light
  • And more!
